Corliss Faye Nichols

Corliss Faye Davis Nichols of Mountain Home departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.  She was born in Bassett, Arkansas on June 1, 1944 to Randle and Frances Bennett Davis.

Corliss lived a full life.  She married Billy Nichols In Bassett on March 7, 1962.  She and Billy raised three beautiful daughters who followed her love for teaching.  Corliss taught in the Osceola School District from 1993 until she retired in 2007.  She and Billy moved to Mtn. Home in 2007 as Corliss loved the “lake” life.  She spent many years on the lake during the summers while Billy would maintain his farming operation in the Keiser/Dyess community.  

Many will remember her love for crafts and the beautiful Christmas decorations which would fill her lawn when they lived in Osceola.

Corliss was  a faithful Christ follower and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Mountain Home. 

She loved her family dearly and leaves a legacy in her husband, Billy; daughters, Alicia (Lisa) Henard of Henderson, Karen Nichols of Horseshoe Bend, and Lora Jones of Wilson; brother, Larry Davis and wife Terri of Mountain Home; four sisters, Peggy Helms of West Plains, Missouri, Betty Cox and husband Mike of Branson, Missouri, Gail Carlton of Boggstown, Indiana, and Pam Bryan and husband Larry of Pass Christian, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Nick Henard and wife Kari of Little Rock, Jourdan Cobb and husband Micheal of Jonesboro, Riley and Kinsey Jones of Wilson; two great granddaughters, Emerson Henard and Reagan Cobb; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Randle Davis, and Jackie Davis; a sister, Martha Williams, and a grandson, Evan Cobb.

A Visitation Service will be Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Doty Family Funeral Chapel, 140 N. Pickren Street in Salem, Arkansas.  

A Graveside Service will be Monday, October 5, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Roller Swift Memorial Gardens, Osceola with Bro. Richard Crawford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org. 

Due to COVID-19 social distancing will be observed and attendees required to wear masks.  Due to CDC guidelines and restrictions indoor attendance will be limited.
