Iris Marie Eaton

Iris Marie Eaton, 87, of Salem, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in Salem, Arkansas.

She was born in Swain, Arkansas, on Thomas Creek on August 12, 1934, daughter of the late Arthur and Katie (Chandler) Thomas. Marie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was united in marriage to the late Alton Elmer Eaton on June 7, 1975, in Salem. During her working years, Marie worked in Home Health, Farming, Paper Mill and at Baxter Lab. Marie loved kids, fishing, farming, working in the garden and was an excellent hunter. She was of the Baptist faith and loved living for the Lord. Marie loved worshiping the Lord and reading her Bible. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, and it was always a good time.

Marie is survived by her three sons, Michael Eaton of Batesville, Arkansas, Robert Eaton of Batesville, Arkansas and Rodger Eaton and wife Cindi of Sweeny, Texas; one daughter, Michelle Eaton; brother, Don Thomas and wife Elizabeth of Haughton, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Tolen Thomas; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Eaton, Joshlyn Ganus, Jenniffer Eaton, Jessica Eaton, John Eaton, Wendy Eaton, Michael Allen Eaton, Rodger Dwayne Eaton, Leslie Russell and Randa Russell; great grandchildren, Joshua Spurlock, Micah Eaton, Mackenzie Eaton, Jared Ganus and Clayton Roberson; nieces; nephews and care givers, James and Rita Newman.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Evelyn Baxter, Helen Gnagy and Mary Joyce Guterious; brothers, Guy Leon Thomas, William Charley Thomas, Leonard Harold Thomas and Arthur Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Trinia Eaton and granddaughter, Jo Lynn Eaton.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 28, 2022, beginning at 3:00 PM at Agnos Cemetery in Agnos, Arkansas with Bro. Tom Doty officiating.
