James Conon Hodges

James Conon Hodges 92, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Walnut Street Assisted Living in Doniphan, Missouri.

He was born in Elizabeth, Arkansas on August 29, 1925, son of the late Gertrude (Roberts) and Robert Lee Hodges. James spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was united in marriage to the late Dorene Emily Lyman and from this union three sons were born. He was of the Missionary Baptist Faith. During his working years he worked for GM Motors.

James is survived by his son, Ron Hodges and wife Janet of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brandi R. James, Aaron G. Hodges, Briar A. Hodges and Jessica Royalty and siblings, Evelyn Trivett, Bill Hodges, Bob Hodges, Lena Barker, Nelda Hurd, Leon Hodges, Wally Hodges and Roberta Cable.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorene Hodges; sons, James A. Hodges and Robert D. Hodges and parents, Gertrude and Robert Hodges.

Graveside service will be held, Saturday, July 14, 2018 beginning at 12:00 PM at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas with Bro. Edward Cable officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time at the cemetery.
