Kirby, Charles Edward

August 16, 1939 - February 17, 2014

Charles Edward Kerby, of Calico Rock, son of the late Noel Shrable and Stell Elnora Kerby Shrable, was born August 16, 1939 in Cushman, Arkansas. He died February 17, 2014 at Community Medical Center of Izard County in Calico Rock, at the age of 74 years 6 months and 1 day.

He ran the Chessmond Ferry at Calico Rock for many years and after the bridge was put in he was a farm hand. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his brother, Harold Shrable of Calico Rock and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Funeral services are Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2 p.m at Pleasant Valley Community Church in Calico Rock with visitation starting at 1 p.m. until service time. Burial in Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Please sign the guestbook for the family.
