Len Thomas Romine, 87, of Glencoe, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life to his Heavenly home on Friday, April 18, 2025, in Salem, Arkansas.
He was born in Heart, Arkansas, on December 7, 1937, son of the late Winston Thomas and Mildred Jane (Deavers) Romine. Len was united in marriage to Avis Louise Parady on December 13, 1958, in Heart, Arkansas, and to this union three children were born. Len served our country in the United States Air Force. During his working years, Len worked as a farmer and for several years worked with his son Tom as a logger. He also drove a milk truck for AMPI, worked for CenturyTel, and for Fulton County Road Department where he retired. Len loved the outdoors. He was always fishing, hunting or camping. In 1976, Len and Avis won Fulton County Farm Family of the Year. Len spent many winters in Florida, fishing and camping. Lake Norfork was one of his favorite lakes and where he taught the kids to water ski. Len was a jokester. He liked to tell jokes and laugh at them. He could always make something out of nothing. Len enjoyed traveling. He made many trips throughout the United States and Canada. Len loved his family and loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Len was a member of Salem First Baptist Church and the Salem Mason Lodge. He was a past member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau Board and Fulton County Hospital Board.
Len is survived by his wife of 66 years, Avis Romine; daughter, Jayne McCord and husband Kelvin of Orleans, Indiana; son, Tom Romine and wife Pam of Glencoe, Arkansas; daughter, Sandy Lawrence and husband Jeff of Couch, Missouri; sister, Norma Blackburn and husband Luther of Heart, Arkansas; grandchildren, Matt Cook (Suzy), Nicole Strange (Scott), Jesse Romine, Maci Tomlinson (Nick), Jake Lawrence (Rachel) and Sara Barrentine (Joel); great grandchildren, Hayden, Clara, Kylie, Guy, Everly, Stetson, Mya, Jarrett, Sazie, Clint, Raewyn and Judah; bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Loyd Ray Romine.
Pallbearers include: Matt Cook, Scott Strange, Jesse Romine, Nick Tomlinson, Jake Lawrence and Joel Barrentine
Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Tyler Fox officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Burks Chapel Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas.
