Luis Covas-Castanera

Luis A Covas-Castanera, 75, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was born in Puerto Rico on May 17, 1947, son of the late Jose Covas and Margarita Castanera. Luis was united in marriage to Joan on June 6, 1997, in Viola, Arkansas. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Elizabeth, Arkansas, Master Gardeners and Board of Natural Resources. Luis loved planting, growing, harvesting and working the land which he was able to do with the Master Gardeners and in his farm. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Luis was the best grandfather and great grandfather to his grandchildren.

Luis is survived by his wife, Joan Covas of Viola, Arkansas; sons, Luis (Melissa) Covas of Arizona and Fernando (Hajra) Covas of Texas; daughters, Grisell (Edgar) Toro of Florida; Luissette (Jay) Nunez of Florida and Liza (Paul) Morales of Florida; 9 grandchildren, Antonnette, Monica, Javier, Edgar, Paola, Valeria, Xavier, Adrian and Leila and 6 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Chance, AJ, Wyatt, Raylen and Bristol.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jorge and Jose.
