Mary Juanita Newman

Mary Juanita Newman, 83 of Salem Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday February 1, 2025, at Baxter Health in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 

She was born in Camp, Arkansas on February 19, 1941, to the late Harold and Mildred (Risner) Wheeler. 

Juanita was united in marriage to Lawrence Newman September 17, 1966, and to this union four children were born. She served as a missionary to Papua New Guinea, raised four children, and worked at Salem Schools in food service and then as a teacher's aide. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and member of Salem First Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Mildred Wheeler, husband Lawrence Newman, son in Law, David Polson and sister, Kathleen Wainwright. 

Juanita leaves to mourn her passing sister, Ruby Leveritt of West Plains, Missouri, daughters Faith Polson of Gardner, Kansas, Joy Newman of Flagstaff, Arizona, Grace Newman of Salem, Arkansas, son, Stephen Newman of Salem, Arkansas and grandsons Noah Polson (Livia) of Overland Park, Kansas, Jonah Polson (Kenna) of Overland Park, Kansas and Moses Polson of Gardner, Kansas.

Pallbearers include: Stephen Newman, Noah Polson, Jonah Polson, Moses Polson, Larry Wainwright

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 5, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Tyler Fox officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas.
