Melissa Jean Beard

Melissa Jean Beard, 50, of Manila, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Manila.

She was born in Salem, Arkansas, on April 12, 1971. She was the daughter of the late Otis Holloway and Shirley Marie (Spencer) Hammond. Melissa spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. Melissa enjoyed going to the river and fishing. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially her grandchildren. Melissa spent her working years at the shirt factory in Salem and as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Melissa is survived by her daughter, Shana Brink (James) of Salem, Arkansas; sister, Lora Rosencrans of Salem, Arkansas; grandchildren, Tayson Brink and Jamison Brink; nieces; nephews and many other loving family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Cunningham; brother, Darrel Holloway and parents.

Pallbearers include: Reece Kingston, Tayson Brink, James Brink and Johnny Spencer

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas with Charlie Yates officiating. Interment will follow services at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at noon.
