Oliver (Buddy) Massey

Oliver Cleveland Massey of Shirley, Arkansas, was born on December 12, 1941, in Bear Creek, Alabama.  He died July 31, 2021 in Salem, Arkansas, at 79 years, 7 months, and 19 days.  He accepted the Lord as his Savior at 17 years of age in Bassett, Arkansas.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He spent his working years as a carpenter and contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Massey, son, Joe Massey(Sandy), daughters, Elizabeth Schoessel(Alan) and Jessica Massey(Clara); grandchildren, Roy Massey(Briahnna), Samantha Palumbo(Evan), Paul, Noah and Serenity Massey, Andrew Schoessel, Austin Schoessel(Vanessa) and two great grandsons, Gabriel and Scott.  He is also survived by two Sisters Gay Aycock and Sara Carlton, one brother Robert Bryan Massey, one aunt, Frankie Creecy, as well as countless nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Oliver Massey, Sr, and Minnie Lorene (Shirley) Massey; three brothers, Jerry Lee Massey, William Paul Massey and Grady Oliver Massey Jr.; one sister, Shelby Jean Ammons; and one son, Paul Blackwood.

A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 2 PM at Osceola Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral Service of Salem, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Heart Hospital.
