Orbra Lee Ward

Orbra Lee Ward, 93, of Melbourne, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, February 10, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Granite, Oklahoma, on December 23, 1929, son of the late Kirby Lee and Velma Elberta (Jones) Ward. Orbra served our country in the United States Army. During his working years, Orbra owned and operated a pest control service, Ozark Exterminators, for 48 years which is still in business today. He was united in marriage to Mary Evelyn Soden on June 10, 1950, in Yakima, Washington and from this union four sons were born. Orbra loved fishing, especially trout fishing. He would go fishing every year on January 1^st with his fishing buddy, Jeffery Mitchell. Orbra enjoyed gardening with Mrs. Evelyn. He loved his family and spending time with them was one of his greatest joys. Orbra had a remarkable memory for dates, times and details of his life. Orbra was a member of Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville, Arkansas.

Orbra is survived by his wife, Evelyn Ward of Melbourne, Arkansas; sons, Jerry (Cynthia) Ward, Kenneth Ward and Gregory Joe (Becky) Ward all of Melbourne, Arkansas; brother, J.H (Laverne) Ward of Oxford, Arkansas; sister, Mavis Jones of Oxford, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kodi Jo (James) Pratt, Clayton Joe (Deanna) Ward, Leslie (Steve) Hammond and Jeran (Sarah) Ward and great grandchildren, Emma Kate Pratt, Nora Beth Pratt, Layla Ward, Lexi Hammond, Loni Hammond, Lane Hammond and Jayden Ward.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Lee Ward; parents and brother-in-law, Morris Jones.

Pallbearers include: James Pratt, Gary Jones, Steve Finley, Steve Hammond, Jeran Ward and Clayton Ward

Honorary Pallbearers include: Tom Norvold, Danny Franks and Rob Warnett

Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, 2023, at Wideman Schoolhouse in Wideman, Arkansas, beginning at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon. Burial will follow in Wideman Cemetery.
