Stella Faye Waltrip, of Salem, Arkansas, daughter of the late John Allen Stroud and Elizabeth Mooney Stroud, was born February 26, 1925 in Peace Valley, AR. She died May 5, 2014 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 89 years 2 months and 9 days.
She was united in marriage to Paul L. Waltrip February 25, 1943 in Heart, AR. She was employed for many years by Jewell Grocery Store in Wheaton, IL. She was also a home health worker for several years. She was a member of the Living Word Tabernacle.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Sparks of Thayer; her son, Mike Waltrip and wife Barbara of Glencoe; grandchildren: Le Ann McHenry and husband David; Jody Sparks; Jimmy Sparks and wife Lisa; Kimberly White and husband Bobby; Evan Sparks; Susan Farrel and husband Matt; Tonja Waltrip; Michael Waltrip and wife Denise; Christopher Waltrip and wife Beth; Elizabeth Hogan and husband Chris; Bradley Waltrip II and wife Lisa; Paul Waltrip; Amy Williams and husband Eric; 22 great grandchildren; her sister, Claudene Newberry and husband Leon of Salem, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons: Richard Waltrip and Bradley Waltrip Sr; two brothers: Ed and Loyd Stroud; four sisters: Ethel Hall; Violet Hall; Opal Langston and Lethia Hollingsworth.
Graveside Funeral Services are Wednesday May 7th, at 3 pm at Burks Chapel Cemetery, with burial to follow, under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. The body will lie in state Tuesday, May 6th from noon to 4 pm at Cox-Blevins Chapel. Pallbearers are David McHenry, Justus Sparks, Bradley Waltrip, Chris Waltrip and Mike Waltrip.
